"I imagine she'd rather enjoy that," says Susan, promptly, thinking both of Janet's affection for truly communicating just how much more difficult her sort of magic is, and her affection for bossing men around. "Really I'd like some sort of frank demonstration of useful abilities that hasn't got the same sort of guise as the talent show had. That was - enjoyable, but the structure can be deterring in a way that impedes practicality."
