Susan perks up at the mention of defying God, and then does a very Susan Pevensie sort of slump (her shoulders lower infinitesimally) again. "Perhaps if a man marrying a woman were that sort of affront I'd have more clarity in my feelings," she muses. Living in sin seems more effective on that front, however. "I'm tremendously pleased for you, you know. It's lovely that you're both so happy." She might've had complicated feelings at the wedding itself, but she cherishes both Galahad and Claudius, and the feelings were unrelated to their relationship. "So the change is in the intangible, and certainly not in the programmatic."
