"Nothing has changed in the things we do every day. I have my schedule. Claudius does too. After I leave his breakfast we often don't see one another until evening. But we are married. I may call him husband. No one can doubt that I love him, and I have joined myself to him. Every day we defy God. We are an affront to the Church. He has what he might not have hoped to have." Galahad looks up at her, his gaze intent. This is a long speech, and it doesn't always come easily to him to arrange his thoughts into words, but every piece of it is important. "He knows that he is different in the way Lan Wangji is different. His sworn brother. They share a state. He is not an outsider. He's part of an exclusive fellowship. I can tell he's happy."
